Suzanne is a graduate of the Penn State University Nutrition Program with over 25 years of experience. She works with people of all ages, assisting them to improve their physical and emotional health by helping them adjust their eating styles. Suzanne has worked in nursing homes, dialysis centers, corporate work sites, group homes for children, hospitals and schools. Her extensive background and caring nature allow her to relay current medical information and science so that her clients can understand the how's and why's of diabetes, high cholesterol, weight management, etc., and are able to manage their own health without any guess work. While Suzanne counsels in all areas of nutrition, in the past few years she has focused on cholesterol reduction, children's health and gastrointestinal disorders. Suzanne is the author of the "Soluble Fiber Solution". This short, simple book details how to dramatically lower your cholesterol the natural way without the use of medications. It is based on patient results supported by lab testing. It can be purchased here. A gifted public speaker, Suzanne Ickes has been a key presenter for Wellness Press, and is certified to provide Health FirstSM , a worksite health campaign that targets weight loss and heart disease. Suzanne also is certified by the American Dietetic Association in child and adolescent weight management, and she is trained as a dietitian for the weight management program, KidShape, which she has taught for four years. Suzanne assisted in the development of child/adolescent cholesterol reduction strategies for pediatric endocrinologist Dr. Arnold Slyper. And, for several years Suzanne volunteered her time to the East Penn School district, assisting in the development of their wellness policy, which resulted in more healthful food choices available to the children throughout their school day. Suzanne has been a vegetarian for over 30 years, and is the past secretary for The Vegetarian Nutrition Practice Group of the American Dietetic Association. Suzanne works in private practice and as a clinical dietitian at the Lehigh Valley Muhlenberg hospital. In addition to her work, Suzanne enjoys cooking, yoga, and outdoor activities. She is the mother of two beautiful healthy children.
